Model Merge Options

When you merge models, you can choose several options. You can:

• Merge the current mart model with a standalone erwin� Data Modeler model (.erwin) or another mart model.
• Update the current mart model or create a new model.
• Select filters and resolve differences, or merge automatically with no filters and difference resolution.
• Merge at the physical level or the logical level (for erwin� Data Modeler Logical/Physical models only).

You can customize the merge behavior when the same object name appears in both the current model and the other model.

Tip: Before you start a merge, use the options in the Theme Editor to select a distinct color for new objects so you can easily see the objects that erwin� Data Modeler adds from the other model when the merge is complete.
